GUIDANCE FOR YOUR NEXT STEP

Local services and self-employment

Turn a skill you already have into a small, clear offer you can test with real customers.

Your first test

  1. Choose a service you can perform safely—cleaning, maintenance, lessons, or local support, depending on your experience. For regulated work, confirm licensing and training requirements.
  2. Write down what is included, what is not, your service area, expected duration, and either a price or a clear way to quote the job.
  3. Calculate materials, travel, and your time. Agree in writing on scope, payment, and changes before you begin.
  4. Talk with three potential customers and test the offer. Ask permission before using photos or testimonials.
